Alice in Wonderland

I finally read Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It's just something I figured I ought to read, because there's so many references to it in popular culture. There were also other motivating factors. I recently stumbled upon a scan of a handwritten manuscript with drawings, which I thought was beautiful. I flipped through it, enjoyed the handwriting and drawings, but didn't read it in this format. I recently got a new phone, and put the Kindle app on it. The ebook was free, and it was short, so I finally plowed through it.
In short, I didn't really "get" this book. I found it crazy, random, and distracted. I had a hard time staying interested, and in the end, just forced myself to finish it for the sake of finishing it. It's probably one of the few books that I'd say breaks the general rule "the book is better than the movie." Well, I'm talking about the Disney version we all saw as kids. I don't know about the latest one with Johnny Depp. That one put me to sleep.
